Parenting Projects

Addressing vulnerabilities and reinforcing protective factors is a key piece of Prevent work, which is demonstrated well through our Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC) parenting project.

This project comprises of weekly four-hour parenting classes over a fourteen-week period, addressing topics such as online safety, parenting methods, and radicalisation. These classes seek to raise awareness of the processes and dangers of radicalisation and offer practical steps for parents from various communities to adequately safeguard their children from these risks and from wider safeguarding concerns.

SFSC has been running for the past 7 years and over 400 parents have successfully completed the course.
